The Dairy Guest House is a lovingly restored and upgraded Victorian town house, retaining its character and original features, such as stained and etched glass windows, pitch pine doors and staircase, cast iron fire grates and wonderfully ornate ceiling roses and cornices. The Dairy is set around a flower-filled courtyard, with additional ground floor, cottage style rooms in the stable block that offer warmth and welcome.

The property was built in 1890. Originally it was a family home and joinery business. It was then purchased by the Trapp family and became a town dairy, selling milk, ice-cream and Yorkshire curd. The Dairy was sold and converted to provide accommodation as a Guesthouse in 1978.

Situated in central York, we are just 300 yards south of the medieval city walls and an easy stroll to York's many attractions and museums.

Permits for On Street Parking in the local vicinity are available.

Wonderful
The DGH never fails to deliver the highest standards in BnB provision. Mike is a wonderful chef and host. Rooms are immaculate and beds very comfortable. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I visit York.

A wonderful place to stay. Walking distance to York city center, situated in a fun neighborhood.Comfortable room with everything we needed. Even a hot water bottle to warm our feet. A varied breakfast choices that were delicious. Appreciate the warm welcome.

A lovely place to stay
This is the second time I have stayed at this B&B and it is such a lovely place to stay. It's located in a nice area and close enough to walk to the train station, city centre, walls and river. Very clean, great breakfast, lovely owner.

Wonderful bed and breakfast
We stayed at the Dairy Guesthouse for 2 nights. Our room was very nice, very clean and freshly appointed. The delicious breakfast was prepared from scratch. We received personal recommendations for local eateries from Mike which were spot on.

Very good place to stay , closed to city, there’s parking next to guest house free 6pm-8 am which is very good as addition , breakfast are wonderful , recommended place to stay in City, will be back to stay

What a wonderful place to stay. The room was clean, comfortable and had plenty of lovely extras as was the bathroom. The breakfasts were fabulous. The location is a huge bonus.
